About George Phelps

A native of Glenwood, Iowa, I received a B.S. from Tarkio College, a Masters Degree from Iowa State University; education has been a lifelong quest. I taught vocational agriculture in Harlan, Iowa, for five years, and was in agriculture sales for five years. Upon moving to Wayne, Nebraska, I  have been a professional in the area of financial planning with a fortune 500 company. Currently, I am an independent  Financial Consultant.

I earned my Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation from the College for Financial Planning. From the The American College, I earned Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Chartered Financial Consultation (ChFC®), and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designations. 

My major interest has always been in the area of helping individuals, families and small business men and women understand complex financial issues being faced today. I always considered myself 80% teacher and 20% salesman -- getting understanding of the why is just as important as making the sale.
